Jake Estes
Jake Estes is the owner of Estes Law Office, P.L.L.C., a North Texas estate planning and probate law firm with offices in Frisco (principal office) and McKinney, Texas. For nearly 20 years, Jake has represented clients across the state of Texas. His practice is focused exclusively on estate planning, probate administration, fiduciary litigation and guardianship. Before founding Estes Law Office in 2014, Jake practiced as an estate planning and probate associate attorney at The Law Office of M. Todd Estes, P.C. in Sherman, Texas.
He also served as an Assistant District Attorney with the Grayson County District Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted felony cases in the 59th District Court before the Honorable Rayburn Nall. During his time as a prosecutor, Jake obtained guilty verdicts in more than 80 criminal jury trials.

Jake is an active member of the State Bar of Texas and numerous professional organizations, including the American Bar Association, Collin County Bar Association, Grayson County Bar Association, and the Paul Brown American Inn of Court. He is also involved in several local civic and professional groups throughout North Texas.
As President of the Grayson County Young Lawyers Association, Jake established and coordinated the “Wills for Heroes” program, providing free wills to law enforcement officers and their spouses through the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department.

Jake has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Goodwill Industries of Northeast Texas and has held leadership and board positions with the Estate Planning & Probate Section of the Collin County Bar Association, The Rehabilitation Center in Sherman, Texas, and the Sherman Chamber of Commerce.
Jake is frequently invited to speak to businesses, charities, and community organizations on a wide range of estate planning topics, including probate administration in Texas, intestacy (dying without a will), living trust scams, and other trust and estate issues.

Jake earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Austin College, where he was also a member of the Austin College lacrosse team. He received his Juris Doctor from Texas A&M University School of Law (formerly Texas Wesleyan School of Law). While in law school, he was a member of the international law fraternity Delta Theta Phi and participated in William & Mary Law School’s international law summer program at the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, Spain. Jake is licensed to practice law in Texas.
